Sony Ericsson Announces New Phones

We've already seen those spy pics of the S500 "non-Walkman" phone, and we expected the thing to come without the Walkman branding, but we didn't expect the device to shed its 3G radios for the US market. The music player won't be the Walkman player, but we think it will do just fine. That slider's beautiful, green illumination is just icing on the cake that is the 2MP camera, stereo Bluetooth, music player, and built-in photo blogging tool. Look for this thing to drop in Q3 of this year.
The other made-for-US device waiting in the wings is the T250 candy-bar. This entry-level phone brings the basic VGA camera, FM radio, and metallic finishes in two dual-band flavors. Expect this to drop in Q3 2007.
For those of you fortunate enough to have access to 900/1800/1900 3G networks (Europe, that means you), Sony Ericsson is blessing you with its pedestal worthy P1. We don't know what happened to the P700i moniker, but it doesn't matter, this thing is a beast! Touchscreen, handwriting recognition, qwerty-keyboard, 3.2MP shooter, WiFi (with VoIP), push email, and stereo Bluetooth are just some of the awesome features on this thing. And, don't forget the 2100Mhz-flavored UMTS radio!
And to keep things balanced, the T650 brings a more modest feature-set to the non-US markets. This device trades the 850Mhz band for an auto-focus 3.2MP shooter and 2100Mhz UMTS radio.
Way to keep us on our toes, Sony Ericsson. Well done.
