Nokia Carla's screenshot leaked Check it out first here

It seems like Nokia is ready with their next Symbian update, code named Carla. Thanks to the leaked screenshots. Take a look at their upcoming OS. From images it appears that the next iteration of Nokia OS, formally known as Symbian, is very much inspired by the Meego and Windows Phone platform.
The changes in this new version appear to be mostly aesthetic. For starters, the music player features a refreshed UI with rounded buttons. The options menu looks similar to that of Meego. Also, the unlock button on the lock screen is missing, which points to an N9-like swipe-to-unlock feature.
The new portrait keyboard has the same key placement as seen in Microsoft’s WP OS. This is a welcome change, since the current Belle keyboard design is a bit uncomfortable to use.

Reportedly, the Carla OS update will be rolled out for the Nokia 700, 701, 603. Needless to say that the yet to be released Nokia 808 Pure view will also get it. There are conflicting reports about whether this upcoming OS will land on the Symbian handsets including the N8 and E7. According to GSMArena.com these old handsets will be given a cold shouder. On the other hand, Nokiapoweruser.com claims that the update will be made available to all devices currently running Nokia Belle.

Google HUD glasses

By the end of this year,Terminator style glassess will be launched by google to the public.
Google will release the much expected heads-up display (HUD) glasses by the year end, according to a New York Times report.

HUD glasses are said to feature a low-resolution camera that overlays relevant information on real-world objects in your field of vision. This augmented reality trickery will be made possible with motion and GPS sensors mated to smartphone-grade hardware and fed with 3G or 4G internet connectivity.
The New York Times reports that the HUD glasses will also have a 3G or 4G data connection and motion and GPS sensors. They will also use Google's software products, such as Google Latitude, Google Goggles and Google Maps.
The prototype apparently resembles Oakley's Thump glasses but functions much more like a smartphone than reading spectacles. According to 9to5Google, the glasses will be Android-based and have the capability to tap into Google's cloud-based location services and detail users' surroundings. This information will then appear as an augmented reality computer display.A heads up display would likely integrate Google Goggles, Google Voice Search, Local Search, some iteration of OCR technology and, of course, a camera.

Why Would People Want Google’s HUD Glasses?

Google Maps Overlay: Imagine you’re looking for a friend’s apartment, a local store, or an exit while driving or walking. It might soon be possible to actually follow a yellow brick road to your destination while also absorbing real-time traffic information and alternative directions to maximize efficiency in traveling.
Social Connections: Imagine you’re looking for your child at a rock concert, your dog in a large park, or your car in a large parking lot. It might be soon possible to find and connect to friends through a localized version of Google+. It could even be expanded to reach people based on common interests such as a dating profile, professional profile, or interest-based connections for finding local tennis players or bridge games.
Video: Recording images/video could now become more simple and intuitive than ever with a look and capture functionality.
Access to Local Reviews: Users could now quickly find a new restaurant that’s algorithmically weighted based on GPS coordinates, your restaurant preferences, reviews of people in a Google Circle, and overall community reviews. This would also be an extremely logical place to integrate Zagat, which Google acquired in September for $151 million.
